The Few and Cursed is a creator-owned comic book series about people trying to survive a wicked world where most of the water was gone overnight in a mysterious apocalyptic event in 1840.
Red is a hardened survivor that was born in this reality and now fights to protect the innocent. As for every darkness there is also light among those few and cursed there are those willing to fight to bring balance to the lands: the Curse Chasers.

Real quick though, before we get into Painting the World Red news, let me just share the latest TFAC Kickstarter is knocking all sorts of Stretch Goals every single day. We've unlocked over a dozen SGs already and we're coming up on another one - hopefully today!

Let me start by saying I was completely taken aback at how the art book Painting the World Red turned out. I knew I was going for a supersized book but I might have gotten carried away. Both editions - softcover and hardcover - turned out gigantic, truly coffee table size books.
Seriously, check out below with a comic book on top of it for comparison.
I blame the inch system. I don't think in inches, I think in metric but hey, the more the merrier and the printing quality on them, just wow.
I'm so proud of this book and I can't wait for you all to get it in the mail. It's definitely way nicer than anticipated, so gorgeous, I mean look at it:
In the next few days I will be shooting an Update specifically to ask Backers for any last-minute changes to their shipping addresses. If you are all set you don't need to do anything. Shipping will start as soon as I'm finished with the fulfillment for The Few and Cursed #6 Kickstarter - which I hope to be completely done with in the next week or two.
Bottom line is things will move quickly now and I'm stoked this campaign didn't suffer any huge delays, the original shipping date was September. Nonetheless I apologize for the small delay and thank you so much for your patience, understanding and support.
Sorry for the back to back updates but I just wanted to share the really exciting news that Kickstarter went back on their initial review of my latest campaign and it is actually now LIVE and absolutely 100% fully funded already.
That's right, the Kickstarter campaign to fund the HARDCOVER & SOFTCOVER trade paperbacks collecting the complete Crows of Mana'Olana saga is online and has also been picked as a Project We Love as well after reaching its goal in two hours \o/
This is the perfect opportunity to grab the hardcover and have it on the shelf right next to your gorgeous Painting the World Red art book.

Books & other Rewards have made it to Florida!

Howdy, my friends!
Excellent news: the books have made port in Florida and are currently going through the bureaucracy to get them unloaded. I was told to expect them to be delivered to me as early as next week which is absolutely exciting \o/
As many of you are also The Few and Cursed #6 backers I'm sure you know I'm currently fulfilling that one and it's a monster of a fulfillment with over a thousand packages. I do expect to be done in the next couple of weeks and immediately fold fulfillment for this Kickstarter into the previous one.
Now that the books are on their way to me I have all rewards ready to ship and I expect to be completely done with everyone's packages by end of November. My next update will include photos of the art book and will offer backers a LAST OPPORTUNITY to update their shipping addresses if needed so please please please keep an eye out for it.
The high-end bookmarks with tassel have arrived already and I might have gotten a bit carried away with the size. To be fair I don't really think in inches and when I approved the job I knew they were going to be slightly bigger but I had no idea they would be that much bigger.
Check out a photo of the bookmark in relationship to one of the comic books. They did turn out beautifully thought and good thing the art book is supersized, huh?
Last but not least I've also already produced the Pearl Metallic Mini-Print. Fair warning, we did print with Pearl card stock but it didn't turn out too good so we switched up to a different option with a canvas texture to it.
Much better as it really feels like the art was hand painted on an actual canvas. I tried to take photos but honestly these look much much better in person, check it out:
All in all wheels are in motion and I'm glad fulfillment is under way. These are great news that could have not have arrived at a better time as I'm ready to launch a new Kickstarter which you can check out below:
I was planning on launching the Kickstarter for The Few and Cursed trade paperback today actually but the Kickstarter Staff has put it on hold until further review saying "Unfortunately, we do not permit launching a new project before fulfilling your previous one."
I would be completely fine with the above if such rule was evenly applied across the platform but it's not, it's actually completely arbitrary and enforced on a case by case basis. I've responded asking them to take another look and offer a different decision, a number of backers already left kind comments on the link above and we are all waiting for a response from Kickstarter.
I'd really appreciate if you could hit the link above and join us in making our voice be heard as well. Maybe if enough of us show Kickstarter I'm a responsible creator with a trustworthy track record we might be able to get the show on the road sooner than later.

Operation Quesadilla under way meaning we have fulfillment dates!

Hey everyone!
I'm writing to you all from sunny Mexico where I've been stuck in a hotel room in Mexico City for a few days now properly doing my quarantine before heading to Florida. Yeppers, Operation Quesadilla is in full swing!
Just a quick reminder of what is Operation Quesadilla. There is a travel ban in effect for all travelers coming into the US if they have been in Brazil up to 14 days prior to their entry. That's why I'm in Mexico for 15 days so I will then be allowed into the US.
But this means I finally have some fulfillment dates for you all that (I hope!) won't change and that we can finally get The Few and Cursed universe back on track. First and foremost the question that I'm sure is in everyone's minds:
WHERE ARE THE BOOKS & OTHER REWARDS?
They are currently on a boat en route to the US from China. They should should arrive in Florida for fulfillment around mid to late October where I will be already waiting for them to start going through everything, signing, packaging and shipping.
Obviously it all depends on me actually making it to Florida but after quarantining in Mexico for 15 days I don't expect any problems entering the US.
FULFILLMENT DATES
So here's where we stand regarding fulfillment for this particular campaign. I can't wait to be able to hold the books in hand and send them out to see what you think of it.
July - Digital distribution via BackerKit (if you haven't downloaded your digital files they are still available via BackerKit - more info below)
Mid to Late October - Books and other rewards arrive in FL.
November 15th - All rewards shipped out and fulfillment completed

The estimated fulfillment date for this Kickstarter was September so thankfully this was the campaign least affected by the Covid pandemic. I still would like to apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
I'm thrilled to be able to finally fly back to the US and wrap up all the outstanding Kickstarters before launching new content.
And yes, we do have a lot of exciting plans ahead of us for The Few and Cursed starting with a new campaign kicking off right this month of October. I'm still keeping the details under wraps because a lot can still change but I'm super excited and I hope many of you will enjoy what we're going for.

Hiya, folks!
This is a quick update to share the winning artworks for the SET OF THREE POSTCARDS that will be sent to every backer that pledged towards a physical reward! It was a close call with all six arts receiving a lot of votes and the number #3 and #4 picks being decided by three votes only!!

Coincidentally they were all artworks done exclusively for the art book so I guess it is only fitting they become postcards for this particular Kickstarter fulfillment.
I also wanted to share a pretty exciting piece of information. The printer in China just e-mailed me to say the boat leaving with our stuff is scheduled to set sail on September 11th and about 6 weeks later I should be getting all the books and prints in Florida.
Obviously a lot can happen, especially in a COVID world, but I sincerely hope to be ready to start fulfillment in late October. Fingers crossed it all works out!
