Alright, folks, this it it.

We have officially begun the fulfillment process for Painting the World Red Kickstarter and step #1 and probably the most important is the BackerKit Surveys. I'm thrilled to confirm all BACKERKIT SURVEYS HAVE BEEN SENT AND WILL BE LOCKED DOWN ON MAY 31ST!

And if you don't fill them out you won't be able to receive any of the rewards included in your pledge tier - digital files as well.

All of you, every single backer, should have received by now e-mails directly from BackerKit asking you to fill out the Surveys. They are easily accessible from the e-mails sent and pretty straightforward, all you gotta do is follow the steps and instructions. No sign in required.

The Surveys will lock on May 31st so please make sure to get them filled out as early as possible, it helps me with the quantities of items I will order from the printer.

If you haven't received your BackerKit Survey invite please follow these steps:

Keep an eye out on your Spam Folder and/or Junk Mail. E-mails will come either directly from BackerKit or myself (Felipe Cagno) and will say on the subject line Response Needed -- Get your rewards for The Few and Cursed: Painting the World Red.

If you don't spot them manually then try using the "Search" feature on your e-mail account page and look for either my name of BackerKit's.

If none of the above works then click the link below, hit the "Lost your Survey?" and input your Kickstarter registered e-mail when prompted.

*IMPORTANT: Make sure you are checking the right e-mail account. It is the same e-mail you registered on Kickstarter with.

How to Upgrade or Switch your Pledge Level

On the very first screen backers will have the chance to upgrade or switch pledge levels. There is a little clickable "or switch your pledge level" just underneath the big green Get Started! button as pictured above.

If you would like to go for a higher tier the system will charge you the difference at the end of the process and if you pledged for one of the top tiers already but would like to spend the cash in a different way then the system will use the difference as extra credit to be used towards Add-ons.

Last chance to get the Kickstarter Exclusive hardcover edition with dust-jacket

Backers will have a LAST CHANCE to either upgrade their softcover art books to the Print on Demand hardcover edition or even add a second book to their pledges. Once the BackerKit Surveys lock down that's it, no more hardcover art books will be available outside the few leftovers after fulfillment is complete.

You will also be able to add a number of other graphic novels, cards, collectibles and more to your pledges. I tallied up every The Few and Cursed product I had stored and made them available for purchase at discounted prices. That includes the original series, the slipcase with original design, the spin-off anthology Chronicles of The Few and Cursed, all our collectible cards, the coins, bookmarks and more.

Also available are all my other original comic books and graphic novels.

PLEASE NOTE: Credit cards are not charged immediately. They are only charged after the surveys lock on May 31st.

Shipping Problems, Missing Rewards or any other issues

Glitches might happen. I'm prone to mistakes so if you notice anything out of place do not hesitate to either leave a comment on this update, shoot me a message or e-mail me at [email protected]

If you have any problems filling out the surveys as well or adding items to your pledge I'm always here to help make this experience as smooth as possible.

Nobody reported anything yet so fingers crossed it's all good. And because credit cards aren't charged right away just add items at your convenience and if there's anything wrong with pricing or shipping we can correct it before the charges go through.

I'm trying to cover any and all big questions in this one long update and my previous one (click here to read the BackerKit FAQ!) but obviously if there is still anything confusing do not hesitate to contact me. I might not answer right away but I usually get back to everyone within 24 hours.

If you are a new The Few and Cursed fan there will be plenty for you to browse and add to your pledge, if you are a returning backer this is the perfect opportunity to fill any gaps in your collection. Take your time, go through our stuff and always know I'm here to help make this experience as easily as possible.

Shipping Fees for Add-Ons on BackerKit have been fixed, I apologize for the inconvenience!

Hey everyone,

Quick note to the 181 backers that have completed their Surveys already. Some of you might have noticed the Shipping costs for Add-Ons were screwy and all over the place (i.e.: adding Shadow Nation or any other previous issued increased international shipping by $14.25) and that has been fixed.

This was a mistake on my part when setting up the different shipping profiles and regions and luckily a backer reached out sooner than later about it. 

All add-ons have now their correct shipping costs and if you decided not to add anything to your pledge because of the faulty prices please make sure to hit the link below to receive another Survey link:

Short and Sweet: BackerKit Surveys are ready to go and arriving on Monday!

Howdy, folks,

I will keep this brief since the big update will come on Monday. The BackerKit Surveys took a bit longer than I expected but there's good reason.

Backers will now be able to automatically switch pledge tiers if they so choose and I've tallied up and made available every The Few and Cursed product to be added to any package. Back issues, collectible cards, spin-off books, the slipcase for the original series, prints, mini-prints & more.

The Surveys will be sent to all of you on Monday, no delays. Please remember to keep an eye out for any e-mails coming from either BackerKit or me directly (Felipe Cagno) - including your Spam of Junk folders.

Just a quick FYI: about 5% of you will be getting the surveys between today and Sunday as a Smoke Test to see if all is well before I send out the remaining bulk.

Howdy!

This was always a project I wanted to move quickly with production and we are pretty much done.

We had most of the art completed already so it was a matter of actually packaging it as beautifully as possible and I'm thrilled to announce designer-letterer extraordinaire DEYVISON MANES already finished putting all the bells and whistles on the book.

I will spend the next couple of weeks actually writing a few texts for the book and making sure all the artists are credited correctly. Then it's off to print already!

And that's why BackerKit Surveys are already being prepped to be sent to you all this week. I will need these filled out and completed before going to print as they will dictate the size of our print run - especially the PRINT ON DEMAND hardcover special edition. 

So let's talk BackerKit for a few minutes while sharing some exciting previews, shall we?

First and most important:

BACKERKIT SURVEYS ARE MANDATORY

Meaning you don't fill them out you don't get your rewards. I know this might sound harsh or even unfair but BackerKit is the only way I'm able to sort through all the different reward packages and get your shipping addresses. Through BackerKit's system I'm able to electronically sort all the different packages, correctly ship them out and automatically keep you up to date with individual tracking info.

Unfortunately every Kickstarter I run there are about 20 to 30 backers that simply choose to ignore the surveys making it impossible for me to mail their rewards. Once again, without the surveys I don't even have a shipping address to send stuff to... 

If you don't complete your BackerKit Survey then your pledge is forfeit and the cash invested will be considered a donation towards the project so please make sure you do get your BackerKit Survey and fill it out.

This week you’ll receive an email with a personal link to your BackerKit Survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as possible since I'll need the information before sending items to production - the surveys will tell me each item count and that's why these are going out already so far ahead of the actual shipping date.

Surveys will be sent to the e-mail account you registered with Kickstarter and they may end up in your Spam or Junk folder. I'll send another update confirming the Surveys have been sent and when that happens please search your e-mail for BackerKit.

Please note: If you used your Facebook  credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey  is sent to the email address you use for  your Facebook account.

How long will BackerKit surveys be online?

I will lock down surveys around May 20th.  After that time, backers will not be able to add anything on to their pledges or fix any payment issues occurred during the Kickstarter campaign. You will, however, be able to update your shipping address until a few days prior to fulfillment.

This also marks the LAST CHANCE to grab the Kickstarter Exclusive HARDCOVER Edition that will be printed on demand with a dust-jacket with brand new art by Fabiano Neves, so be sure to get your survey in before that date!

You'll be able to either upgrade your original pledge or add a second Hardcover book to your package.

Also, credit cards are not charged immediately when you finish up your survey if you added anything to your pledges. I just need an item count confirmation so I can have the printer get all the quantities correctly - especially the PRINT ON DEMAND Kickstarter hardcover edition.

Do I need to sign-up for BackerKit?

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out the survey. When you receive the email just click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping   information, and purchase add-on items if you like.

What about add-ons, extras or Pledge Upgrades?

That's why BackerKit is so important. It gives backers a chance to either upgrade their original pledges or add extras like collectible cards, previous books, other titles like Lost Kids and Too Good to Be True. If you over-pledged on Kickstarter you'll have extra credit to spend on add-ons, you will then be able to pick and choose.

Otherwise any leftover balance at the end of the Survey process will be charged separately and only after the Surveys lock on May 20th. 

A full menu of The Few and Cursed items will be offered at the third screen of your BackerKit Survey, just add whatever you like to your package and the system will handle everything automatically from there, all you'll need is to provide a payment option.

$27K Stretch Goal UNLOCKED!!! And we have yet another good 5hrs left \o/

My friends...

I will keep this short and sweet. 

Check out what just happened!!!!! You all did it, you have unlocked the $27K Stretch Goal and the dust-jacket for the hardcover edition of the books is now a DOUBLE-SIDED dust-jacket featuring a brand new artwork by Fabiano Neves that will essentially be a large-size poster :D

There is still time on the clock and one Stretch Goal left. At this point I have zero doubts anything is possible. Maybe some of you will upgrade your pledges, maybe tons of new backers will flood in, maybe some life-saving patron of the arts will put up $2K in a single pledge, who knows, it can happen!

With a little less than five hours left... what will it happen!?
